Community Garden
The City of New Baltimore started a Community Garden program in the summer of 2012. The garden was a huge success with over 20 plots measuring 10 X 25 feet, were farmed by members of the community. The cost of each plot is $25 for residents of New Baltimore and Ira Township, $30 for non residents. Everything from Corn to Peppers, from Tomatoes to Melons were planted and harvested during this initial year.
Blooms By The Bay Garden Club is committed to supporting the Community Garden with the purchase of a lot that will be paid for by the club and offered to a church, non-profit charity or civic organization, to plant and harvest. If we find that we can do more, we most certainly will lend our support to the Community Garden to ensure its continued success.
Unfortunately we did not see the Community Garden readied by the City this year. We understand the garden was moved this year, however, the soil was never turned over to ready the plots for planting.
